Linked to the EFFORT October newsletter, please discover the video interview with Lidwien Smit from the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences of the Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Dr Lidwien Smit works in the EFFORT work package that deals with the epidemiological analysis of risk factors for antimicrobial resistance:
Associate Professor, Dr. Lidwien Smit explains the aims and findings of her involvement with the EFFORT project. The study focuses on the farm-level epidemiological analysis of risk correctors for antimicrobial resistance. In the context of the work package 4, they focus on the data analysis of the associations between determinants and antimicrobial resistance. Furthermore, they shed light on the analysis of the metagenomic sequencing through a technical working group meeting. Interesting findings in the metagenomic sequencing include the association between specific usage and the upregulation of certain antimicrobial genes.
