The ECCMID, as the world’s premier Clinical Microbiology & Infectious Diseases event, brings together experts from many fields to present their latest findings, guidelines and experiences to an audience of over 12,000 colleagues. The conference offers a wide range of sessions including: keynotes, symposia, poster sessions, educational workshops, meet-the-expert sessions and more. It took place this year in Madrid, Spain from 21-24 April 2018.
The EFFORT project was represented by project partners BfR and UCM:
Project partner BfR presented a poster on "Results of animal trials - In vivo Transfer and microevolution of NDM-1- harbouring plasmid pRH-1238 in a broiler chicken model".
Project partner UCM presented four posters:
- Acquired 16S rRNA methyltransferase conferring high-level resistance to aminoglycosides, including plazomicin, is regulated via the chromosomal 70 factor
- Acquisition of chromosomal insertion sequences mediates the adaptation of a multicopy plasmid to a new host
- Genomic analysis of e. COLI bearing 16s Rrna methyltransferases conferring resistance to plazomicin in waste water and rivers
- Development of a pcr-based system for the screening of cOLe1 plasmids demonstrates their key role in antibiotic resistance
